We headed northwest for Victoria, BC, Canada to enjoy the lights during the shortest days of 2016. Our first international sailing on Manna. Motoring, actually, but it’s good to get the Yanmar running. It took about 4 hours from Friday Harbor to reach Victoria.
Victoria never disappoints. Sunshine and calm water greeted us as we docked in the Inner Harbour, right in front of the grand Empress Hotel.
Curtis wants to assure you that we did tighten the dock lines after this photo. |
As evening fell, the lights dazzled. This is the view from our cockpit.
Our charming friend Mila drove us to The Butchart Gardens to enjoy the Christmas festivities. Exquisite lights, Victorian carolers, and a brass band were joyous, and the weather was clear and in the 40’s.
Love it! Well done Julie!
