Manna is a 1993 Tayana 48, Robert “Bob” Perry design built at the Taiwanese yard, Ta Yang.  Ta Yang, meaning “Big Ocean” was founded in 1973, later creating their own line of yachts branded Tayana, meaning “Belongs to Big Ocean”.  Ta Yang has achieved the reputation for building one of the finest semi-custom blue water cruising yachts in the world, producing over 1400 to date.

Nice hull design!
The Robert Perry designed Tayana 48 started out as the Tayana 47 in the mid-80s and changed to the Tayana 48 in 1992 with the addition of the swim-step platform stern.  This occurred about the same time the Hylas 47 became the Hylas 49 with a very similar modification.  Overall the Hylas 49 and the Tayana 48 are comparable, as well as both still being produced today, both yards being in the same Taiwanese city.  The current Tayana 48 is available in a Deck Salon or Standard deck version with your choice of a semi-custom interior.
